Family Day is here! Yahoo!
"Why Family Day Carnival?" someone asked. "Why not fund raising dinner instead?" My answer ... there are diversities in administrating a project. For this year we chose Family Day Carnival. Although we are only targeting RM65,000.00 (which is a small sum)what is more important is the involvement of the members of Vineyard. Just from one single person we can easily raise RM65,000.00 (I think :-)) but what's more important is the "TEST" this Family Day event provides for Vineyard. Will the people put their hearts into it? Will they put in their best efforts? Will everyone work together as a church even though we are all diverse in our opinions and methods?
See ... IF we cannot get together to work on a simple corporate project, then how are we going to build on something far greater that God has in store for us? Like v 5/10? Back in the days of Moses, there were numerous "projects" or celebrations that Israel was commanded to observe by law. In these events, like the Passover, everyone is required to participate. There were no bystanders, or observers. EVERYONE is to be involved whether they like it or not. Reasons for that? For one, working together brings unity and where there is unity there is strength and harmony. Secondly, there's this "old black face" ... the devil, roaming around seeking to devour and destroy the people of God and these celebrations kept them strong together and Israel, as a result, triumph and prosper.
So can we! When finally God told Moses to build the Tabernacle (House of God) the first thing he did was to raise funds. The people of God then were ready and they gave until Moses had to tell them to stop giving! One heart ... one mind ... one purpose! How did that happen? Through the many "Family Day Gatherings" they had through the years!
We are moving soon into the third year of our vision 5/10. Next year we will be seriously looking to buy a piece of land to build our church. Everyone of us need to fold up our sleeves and dig in our heels and work hard and trust God to grow this church into the church that Jesus wants us to build. We need to encourage one another and there must not be anyone of us sitting on the fence and folding our arms. It's time to "Build God's House First" ... that's our Haggai theme since we launched Haggai Project years ago! Our pledges are doing good. Our Family Day is looking good. Our people are looking good. We have only one life on earth. Let's serve the Lord the best we can! Ask not what the church can do for you. Ask what you can do for the church! God has done all he can for you. Can you give it all back to Him if He requires it from you?
Let's have a ball this Saturday! God has given us an extended family (Vineyard). Let's work together and let the glory of God shine through us! "Thank you God in advance for this Saturday and for the church you are raising up in Vineyard!"
For I'm building a people of power.
And I'm making a people of praise.
Who will move through this land by my Spirit
And will glorify your precious name.
Build our church Lord, make us strong Lord
Join our hearts Lord through your Son
Make us one Lord in your Body
In the Kingdom of your Son
