Made Of God

Last Sunday I had some queries after I spoke a little about the article I wrote here last week (Did God Make Me?). Just in case I am being misunderstood, let me summarize. God created the heavens and the earth and He made man out of the dust from the earth. Then He gave them a command ... "And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth,..." (Gen 1:28). God's part ... He made them. Man's part ... multiply. And that's how you and I came about ... made by man.

The creation of man comes in two stages. First God made a body (Adam). Secondly God "breathed into his nostrils the breadth of life and man became a living soul". So, body comes from the dust and life comes God's breadth (In fact, ALL life comes from God. If God stops "breathing" all life stop existing). Life can only come from God. Man has the ability to make man but only God can give life.

When the egg is fertilize in the uterus, a physical body is formed and at the point of conception, there is this infusion of life from God and thus we, in our mother's womb, became a living soul. And so this is how God "make" us today. He designed the human body to reproduce another human body while He infuses life into us at the point of conception. THEREFORE ... EVEN THOUGH we are not made by God, we are made of God! At the very point of conception God sees us and in His sovereignty He knows about us ... like our physical makeup, the color of our eyes, how long we will live, whether we will be healthy or deform, normal or abnormal. God can see above and beyond our electron scopes and He knows every teeny weeny detail about us to the sub atomic particle composite that we are made up of.

Now since we are responsible for the making of man ("multiply and replenish the earth", remember?)then we need to take responsibility over our bodies and ensure that we are healthy, for a good tree bears forth good fruits and a bad tree bears forth bad fruits. Couples with a history of chemical abuse tends to give birth to unhealthy infants. Children are born HIV because either parent or parents are inflicted with HIV. Now there are children born abnormal through normal healthy parents and it's not really the parents fault. See, there are many other factors and elements involved, both controllable and uncontrollable. So let's not get judgmental here. Sometimes it is hard to find answers in places where there are no answers. Take for example, John chapter 9.

A man was born blind from birth. The disciples of Jesus asked Him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?" And Jesus answered, "Neither this man nor his parents sinned". In those days people believed that sicknesses were directly related to a personal sins. But Jesus taught it is not necessarily so and in the case of this particular blind man, Jesus said it's not because of sin. And He didn't speculate. Wouldn't life be more easier if people refrain from judging each other? Hmmm....

While we don't always understand why things are the way they were, we know for a fact that God is good. And there is always hope in good. Don't you think so? So, who made man after Adam and Eve? Man lor. And who gives life? God Himself lor. Man can never give life to another man (Remember Frankenstein?). Life comes only from God who Himself is the Author of life. So though I am made by man, I am made of God.

The End.
