Psalm 84:4

"Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you."

The first part of that verse is equivalent to the sayings of Jesus, "If you abide in me and I in you ..." When you abide in Christ, you "dwell in the house of the Lord". Or in you are "dwelling in the house of the Lord", then you are indeed abiding in the Lord. Now, "dwelling in the house of the Lord" does not refer to attending church services. Lots of people go to church but they are not abiding in Christ. And it does not refer to being religious cos' religious people don't know God. It's about a personal relationship with the personal God!

What happen when you "dwell in the house of the Lord"? The second part of that verse in P844 says, "they are ever praising God.". Let me say it again ... "THEY ARE EVER PRAISING GOD!"

The evidence of the vine abiding in the branch is that it bears fruit. Dig it? Bears fruit. Not just bear fruits, but good fruits 'cos Jesus said "A good tree bears forth good fruits and a bad tree bears forth bad fruits." Are you bearing good fruits? Are you able to stay joyful even if your dog dies today? Are you able to maintain your praises to God even if you have a really, really bad day? Even if you lose your job? Or is your joy like the unsaved, ... conditional? Remember, the evidence of abiding in Christ is that you are "ever praising God."

Don't live your life like a sour plum ... always sad, always unhappy, always grumpy and always upset. You are the light of the world and the salt of the earth. And if you are truly abiding in the Lord then you too will be "ever praising God." No matter what, don't lose your joy. Then you too will be named among the blessed.

"Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you."
