Can God?
I read with interest from http://joshuaconquers.blogspot.com/ his latest article ... "Could God create a rock so heavy He could not lift it?" It had me thinking for a while. The logic is IF God could, OR if He could not, then He is not really that mighty after all. Looks like a lose-lose situation huh? Read Joshua's article for yourself as he answers the skeptics.
I am thinking ...
1. God is sovereign. He is the only one that has creative powers; i.e. only God and God alone can make something out of nothing! We can take something that exist and make it into something else or we could take something that exist and form it into something else. But to create, that we can't do. So what are we thinking?
2. God does not need to prove Himself to us. He is God (The one and only). We are the created. He is not answerable to us, nor does He need our permission for anything. He is sovereign AND He's awesome, majestic, just, righteous, faithful, forgiving, truthful and there is nothing bad or negative about Him!
3. Jesus sums it all up when He said "With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God." (Mark 10:27).
What is impossible with man is indeed possible with God. What we cannot do, He can ... far exceedingly above all we ask or imagine! Can God create a rock so heavy He cannot lift it? That's rhetorical. Fact is, there is nothing God can possibly make that can be bigger than Himself! Bible says the He spreads the universe like a curtain and He flung the stars into the skies and He knows their exact numbers. And mind you ... the universe is constantly expanding!
To the skeptics, bottom line is ... a fool has said in his heart there is no God! To someone who recently said, "I do not believe in God." I have this to say ... "Good Luck".
